Mariana Gordon is an artist and worked as the Producer of Eduardo Paulozzi’s public mosaic in Tottenham Court Road, as well as the mosaics at Finsbury Park and Oxford Circus stations.

As a teenager, Mariana Gordon narrowly escaped 30 years in a Communist Prison in Ceausecu’s Romania. Charged with high treason and conspiring against the state, Mariana was smuggled to safety in the UK.

She lived in the West as a refugee and artist, returning to Romania before the uprising in Timisoara. During the talk she will be giving an account of her fascinating life, her experiences producing some of the best known mosaics in London, and the artwork that she continues now.
